Completion of summer construction updates
Our Capital Projects Department and contractors completed several projects across the district this summer, improving safety, traffic flow, learning spaces and energy efficiency.
Donald Eismann Elementary
- New parking lot with more parking
- Redesigned entrance and exit
- One-way dropoff pattern
- Safer separation of vehicles and pedestrians
Lakeridge Middle School
- New dropoff lane to reduce backups
- New parking lot with more parking
- Improved traffic flow
- Safer pedestrian crossings
Mountain View Middle School
- New gym flooring, bleachers, paint and branded elements.
- Front office reconfiguration to provide a visual connection to the front entrance to the building and the dropoff/pickup zone.
Crestwood Elementary and Liberty Ridge Elementary
New flooring in main hallways, gyms and music rooms, plus new carpet in several offices. Future school improvements that will take place over the next couple of summers include modernized front entry and security vestibules, access control and built-in teaching stations.
Bonney Lake High School
Tennis courts resurfaced with durable Plexipave for a safer, longer-lasting playing surface.
Lighting upgrade
As part of the first phase of a districtwide lighting upgrade, crews installed more than 7,650 LED fixtures at Bonney Lake High School and Lakeridge, Mountain View and Sumner middle schools. The new lighting is brighter, more energy efficient and reduces maintenance costs. Watch this video for more about the project.
Ongoing projects
There are still many active construction projects ongoing as part of the 2024 construction bond, including Sumner High School Master Plan, Bonney Lake High School expansion and the new middle school in Tehaleh. Follow progress on all bond projects at sumnerbonneylakebuilds.org.
